Recent Happenings

Couple different things have happened since my last blog post. Baby showers, Halloween, we got our wedding pictures, my birthday, Thanksgiving, my mom went to Poland etc.My cousin Michele's baby shower was in Chicago in October, since then she has had a baby boy, Finley Patrick born November 12th. Also in October was Robin's shower, and I believe she is having a boy too. Addyson, Taylor and Annalynn were there and being super cute! Halloween was low key, we dressed Rita up as a bumble bee- she hated it, she stayed in the costume for less than three minutes and that was the end of that. We watched Ken's favorite movie- Nightmare Before Christmas. Ken made French Onion Soup, and has been baking bread. Our wedding pictures came-- exciting! It was nice to see everything and relive the day. My favorite parts were getting ready and the ceremony. I like all those pictures, personally I think the church pictures are the best. Lots of funny ones, pretty ones and candid ones. For my birthday Ken got me a dairy queen cake, it was my very first one, I had never even had one before! I was very surprised because I wasn't sure if Ken even knew it was my birthday-but he did! It was a very "Bernie" weekend, we went to the outlet mall and did some shopping. I got myself something, and did early Christmas shopping for the kids in my life. The outlet mall near us has The Children's Place, Gymberee, Carter's and Oshkosh. We also went out to eat at Alexander's Steakhouse in Champaign. Then the next weekend was Bernie's Birthday Part Two! ( I got to sneak in another weekend) We went out on a double date to Fuji's; which is a Japanese Steakhouse. We had sushi (which I got Ken to eat) and steak w/ steak & shrimp. =D Thanksgiving was good, we went to Ken's house and my parents house. I was surprised and impressed that my mom cooked a traditional Thanksgiving meal with green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, the works- did not see that one coming. Ken's mom made two different pies and had deviled eggs to die for! Needless to say we were well-fed. On Black Friday Kenny and I went out shopping! We left the house at about 8am and still got all the Black Friday deals! We went Target, JCPenney, and Kohls. Made out like a champ at JCPenney because the cashier did not scan the most expensive item that we purchased, which I only realized it later when I was looking for the gift receipt that she had not scanned it. My mom left for Poland yesterday. She and my aunt went to see Grandma, Grandma isn't doing well, she just turned 90 and her health is ailing. My mom and aunt will be there til the 28th so I won't see her at Christmas. This will be my first Christmas without her. I don't know if my dad will decorate for Christmas and what all he will do... =( So I plan on coming up to surprise him and help him!
