Home for the Holidays

Its the most wonderful time of the year!
Merry Christmas!
Kenny and I took a few extra days off so we could have an extra long Christmas. We Went to my parents house for Christmas Eve. My parents had their first real Christmas tree this year; one they cut from our backyard!

We enjoyed an early dinner of traditional Polish foods.

Polish Sour Rye Soup, which is Kenny's favorite

Red Beet soup, which is my favorite

Christmas wafer
Sharing Christmas wafers is my favorite Christmas tradition. Everyone gets their own individual wafer, to share with everyone at the table. You go up each person and break off a piece of your wafer, and wish them a healthy, happy new year.
we got robes and socks for Christmas!

After dinner, we played some cards games and did a puzzle, which was fun. Then we went to Christmas service, which was in Polish and lasted a little under two hours. The service really tested Kenny's patience, but him going really made my parents happy. Overall it was a very merry Christmas Eve.
