First Trip to Kansas

Last weekend we took the 6 1/2 hour drive to visit our friend and old neighbor Neil. We went with Jeremy, who is in the same accounting program as Kenny and Amanda, Neil's girlfriend. Neil and Kenny interned together back in college, and we lived across the hall from him when he did accounting in Decatur. Now he has taken a permanent position in Overland Park, KS so a group of us when down to visit.

On Friday night we wore fake mustaches to the bar -- it was a lot of fun!
Jeremy, Neil, Ken, Amanda & I. All three boys are accountants together. =)

Kenny and I at Jack's Stacks BBQ. We loved Kansas City BBQ.

On Saturday we went to a microbrewery called Gordon Biersch, we had appetizers and walked around the Overland Park Plaza. We are actually standing in front of an ice skating rink but opted to take a picture in front this fire display. On Saturday night we drove over to Kansas City, MO to go check out the fountains and the power and light district. The Power and Light District is quoted to be the Midwest's premeire entertainment epic center- and it is. The shopping, food and Spanish architecture were breath-taking. Ken and I were surprised by it and impressed.

Neither of us is into sports, but we had fun at the game. It was nice to see the home team win!
